Obituary: Sally Elizabeth Coverdale

Sally Elizabeth Coverdale, 77, of Cicero, died Aug. 12, 2014 at her residence. Born July 23, 1937 in Mooresville, she was the daughter of Paul and Clarice (Mills) Hale.

She was a 1955 graduate of Jackson Central High School. She then became employed at Ft. Benjamin Harrison Finance Center where she worked for many years. She was a member of Westfield Friends Church. She had also bowled on two leagues and played for several years on a women’s softball league. She was a most enthusiastic fan of her son’s sporting events. She enjoyed reading and doing needlepoint in her leisure time.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Allen Coverdale, whom she married on Nov. 26, 1961; sons, Kipp (Lisa) Coverdale of Noblesville and Daniel (Lynne) Coverdale of Westfield; brothers, Kenneth Hale of Arcadia and Donald Hale of Noblesville; sister: Norma Cooke of Fishers; and grandchildren, Kasey and Konner Coverdale.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Hale.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Aug. 15 at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel, 209 W. Jackson St., Cicero, with the Rev. Steve Pedigo officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 14.
