Darren L. Peterson will oppose incumbent Steve Wood for the Noblesville Common Council seat in District 4. Peterson has a bachelor of architecture from Ball State University with a minor in philosophy. He started Peterson Architecture 18 years ago in Noblesville and is licensed in 38 states and two provinces.

“I look forward to using my professional experience as an architect, valuable connection to the community gained through active involvement, and the benefit of living in this wonderful community, to create smart, sustainable growth, while maintaining and enhancing a high quality of life in Noblesville,” he said. “Living, working and serving in the community has been a rewarding and fulfilling experience for me. I look forward to giving back and creating opportunities for the community through service on the council”

Peterson is in his third year as vice president of Noblesville Main Street, where he developed the Thursday Market and served on the Duck Race committee and as co-chairman of the 2014 inaugural White River Celebration. As part of Main Street, Peterson initiated CanStruction, a program that has donated more than 9,000 cans of food to the Noblesville Trustees Office, through two sculptures of the courthouse, made entirely of canned food. He serves on the business advocacy committee of the Noblesville Chamber of Commerce and was the chamber’s 2014 Business Person of the Year. Peterson also serves on the development committee of Nickel Plate Arts, attends First United Methodist church where he served on the Teter Family Retreat Board of Directors and is a member of Kiwanis. He enjoys gardening, jewelry-making and is the Wilton Method cake decorating instructor at the Noblesville Hobby Lobby.

“I will work hard to make Noblesville a great place to live, work and play,” he said.
