The Zionsville Fire Dept. put out a house fire in the 6600 block of East Deerfield Drive Sept. 17.
Firefighters made an aggressive interior attack and quickly extinguished the fire, which was confined to the void space between the basement and first floor. Much of the home suffered smoke damage.
Residents safely evacuated the home and called 911 after smoke detectors activated. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
