A popular prom boutique south of Indianapolis recently opened a second location in Carmel. RaeLynn’s Boutique launched in Greenwood in 2008 and opened in Carmel Jan. 4.
“We started as just prom, special occasion and some pageant wear, but prom is our bread and butter,” said Steph Weber, RaeLynn’s Boutique general manager and buyer. “In 2012, we expanded to include just a small collection of our boutique clothing, which has since grown. In 2013, we expanded the store and we added an entire other side. We honestly saw a need for a store like RaeLynn’s on the north side.”
The store is at 146th Street and River Road.
“Our location is centralized for the north side. We’re right on the edge of Noblesville, Fishers, Carmel,” Weber said. “It’s also convenient for Westfield and Zionsville.”
The store is a one-stop shop for prom dresses, accessories and shoes. Although prom is the focus, the boutique clothing line offers more casual attire.
“I like to tell people usually December through May we really dominate with prom. If you walk into our store you’re going to wonder where our boutique section is due to all the prom dresses, but it kind of grows in the beginning of March and throughout the summer,” Weber said. “We do different outfits for country concerts, summer dresses for weddings, or vacation clothing.”
RaeLynn’s even has a way to ensure no two dresses show up at the same prom.
“We register all of our dresses. So, we’re not going to sell the exact same dress to the same school. That registry is both for Greenwood and Carmel. Even if they buy a dress in Greenwood we won’t sell it in Carmel and vice versa,” Weber said.
