An Australian-based fitness studio is coming to Fishers. F45 will open Oct. 13 at 13272 Market Square Dr. F45 stands for Functional 45.
“Every class is 45 minutes of high-intensity interval training, but it’s group training and personal training,” Operating Partner Brent Carmichael said. “We have two certified personal trainers in every class making sure people are correct in their form and making modifications.”
The fast-paced class utilizes technology to move participants through each workout.
“We have nine, 55-inch screen TVs,” Carmichael said. “We have five on the wall that are showing you what you’re doing at each station. In between those are timer TVs so you know how much rest you get and what station you’re going to next.”
Every person wears a heart monitor to assist trainers in pushing everyone to their target heart rate.
“If someone’s heart rate is too high, we need to bring them back down,” Carmichael said. “If someone’s heart rate is too low, we need to help them get their heart rate up by adding weight.”
Classes accomodate 27 to 36 people. All workouts are pre-planned.
“Each workout has a different name,” Carmichael said. “For example, one is called Roman, which is a resistance-based workout. Another is called Brooklyn, which is more of a kickboxing/boxing workout. You might choose a Brooklyn class, but you will never do the same exercises even though you’ve taken that class before. It’s always different.”
Another ingredient is fun.
“The environment is electric,” Carmichael said. “People are sweating through their shirts, but they’re smiling, high-fiving and having a good time. The thing that separates us from everyone else is innovation, plus our motivation equals our results.”
Free mini workouts are offered at 6:15 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. For more, visit f45training.com/NorthFishers/.
