R. Stanley Craig, 91, Noblesville, died Sept. 28 at Harbour Manor Care Center in Noblesville. He was born March 11, 1924 to Chauncey and Mary (Heckert) Craig in Noblesville.

Stanley proudly served his country in the United States Army, was a graduate of the Citadel Officer Training School and was a Captain in the Americal Division of the Military Police. He was a farmer and lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church of Noblesville. Stanley enjoyed fishing, Purdue Football and held memberships in the John Purdue Club and the Purdue Chapter of Sigma Chi fraternity. He served 12 years on the Noblesville School Board and was also its president. He also served on and was the president of the American National Bank Board of Directors. In addition, Stanley was a Mason, Shriner, founding member of the 50 Club, a member of the Noblesville Lion’s Club and Noblesville American Legion.

He is survived by his son, Stephen (Moffett) Craig; daughters, Nancy (David) Skelton and Beth Wardlaw (Faye Copley); seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Mary Lee Craig, on May 21, and brother, Robert Craig.
