The Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville announced Jan. 9 that it will be teaming up with the Indiana Blood Center to host a community-wide blood drive on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Jan. 16.

FlyerDonation times are set from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club, 1448 Conner St.

The club said locally, the need for blood is urgent, and that this event will serve as an opportunity to make a difference.

“Members are able to see firsthand how a little bit of time, and a little bit of blood can change a life,” BGCN program director  Lauren Sebring stated. “More importantly, it is a generous act that allows all eyes and hearts to be open.”

All donors who give blood at the event will receive a $10 off coupon for an online order to Noodles & Company, 17015 Mercantile Blvd., Noblesville.

BGCN’s Torch Club will attempt to reach its goal of 50 donors during the drive, and by doing so, the group’s members will receive points toward an end-of-year trip to Outer Banks, N.C.

Representatives from the BGCN said giving blood takes approximately 10 minutes, and donors are encouraged to eat a meal and drink plenty of water prior to donating.
