Trader’s Point Christian Academy in Whitestown will host the inaugural Let’s Grow 5K April 22 at Witham Health Services at Anson. The run will benefit TPCA’s new high school, set to open in August.

TPCA has experienced record enrollment in recent years, and the new building will allow the school to serve nearly three times as many students at the high school level.

“It’s pretty obvious that we’re growing, and we need to be a greater part of the community,” TPCA Chief Advancement Officer Ryan Gallagher said. “This is our opportunity to raise awareness about who we are and what we do.”

TPCA also will host an open house at the new high school after the race. Guests can enjoy food as they tour the new building.

“People can come as they wish and take a tour or just hang out and get some breakfast. It’s just a way for us to make sure we’re opening our doors to the community. Even if people don’t participate in the 5K, they can still come and participate in the tour,” Gallagher said. “What we’ve realized is that we’re really the only private K-12 school west of Meridian and north of 86th Street. We’ve realized we need to do a much better job at engaging the community, and this is our first attempt at that.”

The race itself also focuses on health.

“It’s also about getting out and doing something healthy with our families and school members,” Gallagher said.
