Zionsville has been selected as the location of one of three 2012 gubernatorial debates organized by the Indiana Debate Commission. The event will be held Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Zionsville Performing Arts Center. The debate is free and open to the public.

Candidates include Democrat John Gregg, Republican Mike Pence, and Libertarian Rupert Boneham.

The Zionsville Chamber of Commerce and the Zionsville Community School Corp. will be working to provide support services to the debate commission for the event.

“Being selected as the location for this 2012 gubernatorial debate is a phenomenal opportunity for Zionsville,” said Bryan Traylor, Board President of the Zionsville Chamber of Commerce. “Not only will we be able to promote our community and collaborate with the Zionsville Community School Corporation, but we will also have the ability to showcase one of our state-of-the-art facilities.”

“We are delighted to be able to work with the Indiana Debate Commission and the Zionsville Chamber of Commerce to make this event possible,” said Dr. Scott Robison, superintendent of the Zionsville Community School Corp. “This will be a great learning opportunity for our students, and we are excited to welcome residents from across the state of Indiana to our campus.”
