Parish mission planned for March 4-7

St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 17104 Spring Mill Rd., Westfield, will hold its Annual Parish Mission from 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 4 through March 7. The mission, Living Water-Quench the Thirst, will be led by Fr. Paul Huesing, C.S.P., a member of the Paulist Fathers located in Washington, D.C. Huesing will preach at all masses March 2 and 3 and begin the mission on March 4.Topics for each night of the mission are: Monday – Thirsting for the Water Ourselves; Tuesday – Offering this Thirst-quenching Water to Others; Wednesday – Irrigating a Parched Land; and Thursday will include a Mass and summary of the mission.

Huesing has worked in parish ministry and campus ministry in Austin, Texas, and Boulder, Colo., and in adult religious education ministry in Toronto, Ontario, and Grand Rapids, Mich. He is involved in seminary formation ministry as director of formation for the Paulist Fathers in Washington, D.C. Along with two others, Huesing also developed materials known as the Catholic Faith Inventory for use in the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults and adult confirmation preparation programs.

Born in Covington, Ky., Huesing attended Thomas More College in Covington, received his master’s degree in theology from the Catholic University of America, and later earned his Ph.D. in psychology at Fordham University in New York.

The Annual Parish Mission is free and open to everyone. All are invited to share in hospitality at the parish hall following the March 4 session. A free-will offering will be taken the last night of the mission.
