Grant bringing recycling bins

The City of Noblesville Fund, a fund of Legacy Fund, and Duke Energy awarded grants totaling $14,700 to Noblesville for permanent recycling bins in downtown Noblesville.

“We’ve needed permanent bins in our downtown for many years now,” said Mayor John Ditslear. “We are very excited to receive these grants to make the bins a reality.”

The gated recycle bins will be purchased and installed by late spring and will be maintained by the City of Noblesville Street Dept.

“With so many festivals and events in downtown, not to mention the day-to-day visitors and people who work in or around the square, these bins will really help items get recycled that otherwise would go into landfills,” said Street Dept. Commissioner Patty Johnson.

The Legacy Fund, an affiliate of the Central Indiana Community Foundation, is committed to bringing neighbors together to address community issues and priorities, to connect donors with their charitable interests and passions and to make the act of giving a more meaningful and effective gesture for donors.
