Are you a euchre enthusiast looking for three other players? Then join in the fun when the Westfield Washington Public Library Euchre Group meets at 5:30 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. Come enjoy a relaxing evening of fun with some great people at this free program on Wednesday, May 8.

 

Library Board Meeting

The Board of Trustees of the Westfield Washington Public Library meets at 7 p.m. in the Sumner Room on Wednesday, May 8. All meetings are open to the public.

 

Teens Only!

It’s Teen Movie Time at the Westfield Washington Public Library! The movie is “Sherlock Holmes” (© Warner Bros., PG-13). Detective Sherlock Holmes and his stalwart partner Watson engage in a battle of wits and brawn with a nemesis whose plot is a threat to all of England.The movie is at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, and you must be 13 or older to attend.

 

Gotta Catch ‘em All!

The Yu-Gi-Oh/Pokemon Club meets on Wednesday, May 8, at 6:30 p.m. at the Westfield Washington Public Library. This is a great place to share or trade cards, and it’s free.

 

Paws and Read

A very special program, “Paws and Read,” is Saturday, May 11, at 10:30 a.m., where kids can read a story to a book-loving dog. This activity increases a child’s confidence, generates excitement about reading and makes learning fun! Dogs provide rapt attention and children read aloud without fear of criticism or interruption. Stop by the Children’s Desk to schedule 10 minutes of special time with a trained listening dog. This is a free program but please reserve a time slot.

 

Gift Making Workshop for Kids

Mother’s Day Gifts: “Make It and Take It” is from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Westfield Washington Public Library on Saturday, May 11. Kids ages three and up (accompanied by an adult if under 7) can drop in and make a special gift just for mom or anyone else they choose. The cost is $1 per item, and children will leave with wrapped, ready-to-give gifts. No registration is required for this special program.
