The book began as a result of Faenzi taking a sabbatical from a busy corporate career in New York. She bought a one-way ticket to live in Tuscany, in search of her ancestral roots. Her time in Italy and writing stories of her immigrant ancestors inspired her to change her life.
Faenzi presents programs across the United States that encourage audiences to preserve their family legacies, stories and rituals using opera, photography and storytelling. She is currently developing a screenplay adaptation of The Stonecutter’s Aria.
In addition to her creative pursuits, Faenzi has a private practice of cultivating management and leadership abilities for women and is a consultant for a variety of small business and non-profit organizations. Faenzi splits her time between Indianapolis, New York City and her family farm in Tuscany.
