Barbara Betty Guilmain (Miller), 75, of Westfield died Jan. 9, 2014. She was born to Victor and Louise Miller on Dec. 28, 1938 in Buffalo and raised by foster parents, Charles and Beulah Taufer, in Springville, N.Y.

She graduated from Springville in 1956. After high school she began work for M&T Bank as a Teller where she worked for many years. She relocated to Noblesville in 2001 and Westfield in 2012. After relocating to Noblesville, she began work for Prime Life Enrichment as a senior companion, where she worked for 10 years. She was passionately devoted to making a difference in the lives of her clients, many of which became dear friends.

Throughout her life, she was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church in Springville then Christ Lutheran Church in Noblesville. She loved to sing in the choir, teach Sunday school and serve the Lord when and where there was a need.

She was a most loving “Granny” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them. She was a member of the Hamilton County Extension Homemakers Association and enjoyed time spent gardening.

Survivors include her children, Donna (Sean) McCarthy and Bill (Claudia) Guilmain; grandchildren, Alexandria (K.C.) Hughes, Julie McCarthy, Lindsay (Justin) Hall, Sean McCarthy and Will Guilmain; and great-grandchildren, Alivia, Kendra, Gavin, Christopher, Alexander and Easton.

She also is survived by her sisters, Virginia Fisher, Shirley Taufer, Susan (Don) Corey and Lisa (Jose) Cosme; brothers, Roger (Jane) Wilkes and James Herniman; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by Victor and Louise Miller, Charles and Beulah Taufer, Vernon Miller, Virgil Miller, William Miller, Herbert Miller and Herschel Miller.

Funeral service will be held noon Jan. 16 at Christ Lutheran Church. 10055 E. 186th St., Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 10a.m. Burial will follow at Crownland Cemetery. Arrangements have been made with Bussell Family Funerals, Westfield.
