The fourth grade Science Bowl team from Eagle Elementary placed first during their competition this week. The team competed in the full team portion last week and then four members of the team (Amelia Hartzel, Ellen Sanderson, Jacob Spolyar and Andrew Spolyar)  competed individually this week for a combined score of 76.4.

The experiment this year involved putting 100 grams of brick chips in a bottle, shaking it for 30 seconds, and then recording the mass of the brick chips and sediments.  This was done 10 times to show mechanical weathering.  The team has been meeting after school with coach Kelly Masters to learn  more about the area of Earth Science which was the focus of the competition this year.

Team members are:

Ryan Betz, Logan Brewer, Henry Conaway, Amara Daugherty, Ethan Ferzandi, Jack Hadlock, Eleanor Hanlon, Emilia Hartzel, Jordan Herbst, Ainsley Hollingsworth, Ben Hopper, Gracie Kahoun, Megan McKay, Thomas Price, Connor Retz, Samantha Ruffer, Ellen Sanderson, Hannah Smolen, Andrew Spolyar, Jacob Spolyar, Zach Swartz, Ben Walker, Abe Weber, and Scotty Wiley.
