The Carmel Clay Freedom Circle Veterans Memorial has had a rough winter. The concrete surrounding the reflecting pool and statue is badly cracked, damaged or in some cases completely missing. The air around the pool is foul and the pool itself could use a thorough cleaning. It is unclear who is responsible for its maintenance. County records show the Carmel Redevelopment Commission owns the property, but a request for information about the situation to the city’s communications department went unanswered.
