Larry Morrissey, 72, of Columbia, Mo., died April 5, 2014. He was born Sept. 12, 1941, in Winterset, Iowa, to the late Patrick Henry and Carrie Lucile (Spillers) Morrissey. He married Phyllis Barker on October 12, 1960, in Ottumwa, Iowa; she survives. Larry worked in the lumber industry most of his working life. In his free time, he enjoyed golf, billiards and spending time with his loving family and friends. He was very proud of his Irish heritage. Larry and his wife, Phyllis, were charter members of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Carmel. In addition to his devoted wife, Phyllis, Larry is survived by his two children, Linda (Deb Krieger) Morrissey and Jon (Alyssa Guidry) Morrissey; a stepson, Terry (Angela) Bell; a sister, Beverly (Richard) Kile ; and three grandchildren, Ciara, Tristian and Gianna Bell. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson, Cory Bell. A funeral service was conducted April 9 at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia.
