The Noblesville varsity boys basketball team isn’t the only high school sport with a new leader next season. Noblesville Schools announced that Steve Hawthorne has been named head girls volleyball coach. He replaces Steve Ward.

“We are very excited to have Coach Hawthorne as a part of our community and to lead our volleyball program from top to bottom,” stated Mike Hasch, athletic director. “His expertise and knowledge will lead our entire program in the right direction.”

Hawthorne spent this past season as the girls volleyball coach at Lebanon High School and is currently a club volleyball coach at Indiana Volleyball Academy. Previously, he was club director and associate club director at IVA, head volleyball coach at Guerin Catholic and assistant at Zionsville High School.

“I am both honored and humbled for the opportunity to lead the Noblesville girls volleyball program. This is a program with an immense amount of talent and potential and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can build and achieve together,” Hawthorne stated.
