COM-Bank Robbery Gagle

Just four hours after robbing a downtown Noblesville bank at gunpoint, a 50 year old male was arrested when an observant citizen noticed the man at a local business.

At 11:49 a.m. June 11, Noblesville police officers responded to Community Bank, 830 Logan St. A short time later, officers arrived on the scene and made contact with the bank employees.

NPD spokesman Lt. Bruce Barnes said evidence at the scene and witness statements stated that a white male, identified as Robert A. Gagle, 50, of Noblesville, came into the bank and demanded money from the teller. It was reported that Gagle displayed a handgun during the robbery. He took an undetermined amount of money and fled the scene. Barnes said there were no injuries reported.

“Officers immediately established a perimeter in the area and utilized police canines in an attempt to locate the suspect. The perimeter was lifted at approximately 1 p.m. without the suspect being located,” he stated.

Then at 3:53 p.m., Noblesville officers and investigators responded to the CVS Pharmacy at 2550 Conner St. in reference to a 911 call. Dispatchers from the Hamilton County Communications Center told the responding officers that the 911 caller believed that the alleged bank robbery suspect was there. Barnes said officers arrived on the scene, located a person matching the suspect’s description and took Gagle into custody without incident.

“After further investigation, investigators petitioned for and were subsequently granted a search warrant for the subject’s vehicle. Investigators believe that they located items relevant to the criminal investigation surrounding the alleged robbery,” Barnes stated.

Gagle is charged with robbery, a Class B felony; and theft, a Class D felony. He is being held at the Hamilton County Jail on a $30,000 bond.

Barnes said the case remains an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the NPD Criminal Investigation Division at 776-6370 or [email protected].
