Otto Frederick Reifeis, Jr, 89 of Carmel, passed away August 8, 2014. He was born on May 30, 1925, in Indianapolis, son of Otto Frederick Reifeis Sr and Edna A. Habeney Reifeis. Otto graduated from Purdue University with a Mechanical Engineering degree. He was a WWII Veteran, having proudly served his country in the US Navy at this invasion of Normandy and the Battle of Okinawa. He worked at Western Electric as a Mechanical Engineer retiring in 1986.
Otto was a faithful member of the Carmel Lions Club where he received the Melvin Jones Fellows Award and also the Miyamoto Fellowship Award. Otto was a lifelong member of Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ in Indianapolis.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Carol; sons, Paul (Elizabeth), Rick (Jenny); 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and 2 brothers.
Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the Carmel Lions Club, 141 E. Main Street where the Memorial Service will begin at 12 p.m.
