Zionsville’s own Ballerinas and Bruisers has been dubbed “Best Children’s Clothing” in The Indy A-List competition for the fourth time. Steve Schwartz, owner of Ballerinas and Bruisers and his store claimed this title in 2012, 2011 and 2010.

His store came first out of twenty-five stores located throughout the greater Indianapolis metro area. The Indy A-List features more than 5,600 businesses competing for title of Indianapolis’ best.

Defying the challenges as a small business, brick and mortar store in the age of on-line shopping and big-box stores, Schwartz has maintained a leading edge in children’s fashion, accessories, educational books, gifts and other unique adornments. Schwartz advocates for other local small businesses and local vendors as part of his philosophy that locally owned proprietors must support each other if they wish to be successful and relevant to their tech-savvy patrons.

“I would like to thank everyone of my customers, family and friends who took time to cast your votes for my store,” Schwartz said. “We strive every season to bring our customer’s the most unique and best quality apparel, accessories and gifts, while remaining cost conscious and we hope to provide the best customer service experience that customers will not receive from a computer.”
