From 7 to 9 p.m., Sept. 13, Carmel will host a Chinese Mooncake Festival at the corner of Main Street and the Monon.

Presented by Carmel’s sister city committee, the festival will acknowledge one of the city’s sisters, Xiangyang, China. IU Health North Hospital is a sponsor for this event.

The event is free and open to the public. There will be music, dancing, and the chance to taste mooncake, a Chinese bakery product traditionally eaten during the Mid-Autumn Festival. The festival is for lunar worship and moon watching, when mooncakes are regarded as an indispensable delicacy.

Also during the event, the public is encouraged to enjoy the Second Saturday Gallery Walk and view sister city art exhibits downtown.
