A group of lacrosse players, primarily from Zionsville High School, wrapped up their summer travel schedule by competing in the inaugural Indy Laxtoberfest at Grand Park in Westfield, Indiana, the  weekend of Nov. 1 and 2.

After a rough start on Saturday, playing before the sun came up on a field covered in ice and enduring a couple heartbreaking losses, the team rallied to go undefeated on Sunday, including winning their bracket.

Coach Christopher Russell said:  “The team’s dramatic turnaround on Sunday is a direct reflection of the tremendous character of our players. Even more impressive was the level of sportsmanship shown by the guys which culminated in a joint post-championship picture with their opponents from Lexington, Kentucky. Truly a great group of young men.”

The team has played together since June during five tournaments including Circle City Faceoff, Westfield, Indiana; Pipe City, Vernon Hills, Illinois; Midwest Finalax, Kalamazoo, Michigan; Hoosier Lacrosse Fall Shootout, Westfield, Indiana, One Mo Time – Westfield, Indiana.
