Carmel Winter Market opens next week

The Carmel Farmers Market, a growers- and producers-only market, will be the place to buy fresh fruits, vegetables, fresh meats, cheeses, eggs, plants and prepared foods this winter season.

According to Lisa Baumann, who sits on the Farmers Market committee, last year’s winter market was very successful.

“All of our products will be either grown or made here,” she said. “So it’s very local, and most of our vendors are in or around Carmel. I think that a lot of people like having local products.”

Only edible products, with the exception of annuals and perennials, will be sold at the market. No craft items are sold.

The 2014-15 edition of the Carmel Winter Farmers Market will open on Nov. 15 in a new location. The Market will now be held in the Wilfong Pavilion at Founders Park. This park is located just north of the intersection of 116th and Hazel Dell Parkway.

While the opening date and the location have changed, the hours have not. The Market will be open every Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to noon through March 14. The only exception to this schedule is that the Market will not be held on Dec. 27. For more information visit http://www.carmelfarmersmarket.com.
