Charles O. “Smitty” Smith Jr., 90, of Noblesville, died Oct. 31, 2014, at Prairie Lakes Health Campus. Born Sept. 20, 1924, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Charles and Josephine (Thomlinson) Smith.

He had been the president of Robert Haines Company before he retired in 2008. He proudly served his nation in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Carmel and the Moose Lodge in Noblesville.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen Smith; son, Todd (Rebecca) McQuinn; daughter, Holly (Rick) Martin; grandchildren, Ashley, Joshua, Megan and Heather McQuinn, and Mercedes and Alexis Martin; and great-grandchild, Ronin Roark.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Pearlee Smith.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Nov. 9 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Rd., Fishers, with visitation beginning at 2 p.m. The Rev. Eric Lohe and the Rev. Ron May will officiate.
