ZCHS students from Ms. Florey’s Painting I class entered the “Inspired By O’Keeffe” competition offered by the Indianapolis Museum of Art.  The goal was for these students to create an organic/abstract work based on the famous American artist, Georgia O’Keeffe.  Out of the four works that were entered into the competition, among 340 state wide, two ZCHS students’ works were chosen.  Bailey Jones (grade 12) placed first and Tori Leur (grade 11) was chosen for Honorable Mention.  These artworks will be exhibited at the IMA from November 2nd, 2014 through February 15th, 2015 along-side of O’Keeffe’s work.

Members of the Orchestra and Wind Ensemble from the University of Indianapolis worked with the ZCHS Symphony Orchestra on general ensemble performing techniques and with the well-known Sleigh Ride tune that will be performed at the Holiday Concert on December 4th and 5th.  The directors from U of I conducted the rehearsal.

3D Art1

ZCHS students, Valerie Gayheart and Vita Frohlich, in  Ms. Fletcher’s 3D class designed a cast of their hand and used it as a display for their career research design.  Students were asked to research a career and make a symbol to represent that career and display it on their cast.
