Vernon Petrie will be signing his cookbook, “Tuscany al Verano: The Culinary Journey from Lucca” at Black Dog Books (115 S. Main Street in Zionsville) from 1 to 3 p.m. Jan. 17.
Petrie, not only shares recipes from his native Lucca, Italy, but also his remarkable story of surviving war, working in counter-intelligence and becoming a top trial lawyer in Indiana.
Petrie collaborated with his wife, Nancy Branyas, who edited and produced the book and also contributed to the photography of the food and the local Italian villages. This book transports one to Italy short of going there oneself.
