Lawrence (Larry) Robert Kennedy, 57, of Noblesville died Jan. 23, 2015 in Lake Mary, Fla. Born Sept. 18, 1957 in Saginaw, Mich., he was the son of Robert Lawrence and Bernetta (Fettig) Kennedy.

He was the owner and operator of Red Wing Shoe Stores No. 614 in Waldorf, Md., No. 609 in Palm Harbor, Fla. and No. 869 in Washington, Pa. He received his bachelor’s degree for electrical engineering at Michigan Tech and a master’s at University of Southern California in systems architecting and engineering. He was a member of the International Council on Systems Engineering as a certified systems engineering professional engineer; as well as the Michigan Tech Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering Advisory Board: CSEP, MSSARE Independent Professional EAC member since 1997, and chairman as of fall 2012.

He was a faithful (and punctual) Catholic; and enjoyed date night with his wife and spending quality time with his family. He also enjoyed include water skiing, remote control helicopter and drone recreational operator, remote control helicopter and drone crash tester, exploration and utilization of the latest technological gadgets, official kite flyer of Morse Reservoir, official kite sinker of Morse Reservoir, guitar and bass player, Kennedy family official Grill Master, Indy’s Top Mickey Mouse waffle chef extraordinaire, Oakbay’s very own Master Cicerone (in his own mind) and cocktail experimentalist, official ‘Corny Dad joke’ enthusiast, and the World’s Elite ‘Daddy Hug’ giver.

Survivors include his wife, Mary (Barlage) Kennedy; daughters, Stevie (Stuart) Kennedy Showalter and Maureen Kennedy; sisters, Jackie Kennedy, Nancy (Don) Kennedy Kiley and Sheila (Mike) Kennedy Collison; nieces and nephews, Annmarie, Gary, Mike, Tina, Mike, Kristie, Chris Kristal, Kelli and Ben; great nieces and nephews, Samantha, Joseph, Desiree, Robert, Ryon, Zackary, Robert and Brooklynn; great-great nephew, Matthew; sisters-in-law, Suzie (Fraser) Gorrell, Deborah (Rob) Phebus, Jan (Jeff) Habermas, Sheila (Mark) Galaz and Beth (Tim) Flory; additional nieces and nephews, Bryan, Barbie, Elissa, Shane, Katie, Aaron, Jacob, Zachary, Paul, Lucas, Nick and Alex; and additional great nieces and nephews, Anna, Madison, Avery, Leah, Nate and Ben, Lilianna.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Kennedy; and in-laws, Thomas Barlage and Suzanne (Fritz) Barlage.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 2 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 9900 E. 191st St., Noblesville. Visitation is 2 to 6 p.m. Jan. 31 and 3 to 8 p.m. Feb. 1 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Rd., Noblesville, and at the church beginning at 10 a.m. on Feb. 2.
