Obituary: Wendell J. Dillinger

Wendell J. Dillinger, 83, of Sheridan, died Feb. 11, 2015 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville. Born May 8, 1931 in Sheridan, he was the son of Robert and Cleo (Broadstreet) Dillinger.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. For 43 years, he worked as an accountant for Dow Chemical. He was a member and Elder of North Central Church of Christ and a past member of the American Legion. He was always a dedicated father to his son, David, throughout David’s illness, and loved all of his children.

Survivors include his son, Neil (Lisa) Dillinger; grandchildren, Jessica Wyatt and Robert Everett Dillinger; great-grandchild, Anslee Wyatt; sister, Janet (George) Bowser; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David W. Dillinger in 2008; brothers, James and Rex Dillinger; and sister, Betty.

Funeral services will be held at noon Feb. 16 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan St., Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville with military rites to follow.
