Lara Mulpagano, Performing Arts Secretary at Carmel High School, has been named the 2015 Support Staff Employee of the Year for Carmel Clay Schools..

Mulpagano was informed of the award during a surprise ceremony at the high school on May 14. CCS Superintendent of Schools Dr. Nicholas D. Wahl, members of the CCS Administration and Mulpagano’s family attended the surprise announcement.

One nomination described Mulpagano as, “…an incredible asset to the Performing Arts Department at CHS. She goes above and beyond her duties. She never thinks of herself and does everything for the benefit of our students…She is always a few steps ahead of us, taking on a task before we often think about it.”

“Lara is an asset to the Carmel Clay Schools community. She works hard every day to support our students and staff. Her dedication truly contributes to the excellence and success of the Performing Arts Department at the high school,” stated Dr. Wahl.

Mulpagano was hired by Carmel Clay Schools in 2008 as a Substitute Teacher before becoming an Elementary School Instructional Assistant. She has been working in her current position as the Secretary for the Performing Arts Department since September 2013.

Support Staff of the Year nominations are made by students, parents and colleagues each spring. A selection committee consisting of support staff and administrators review the nominations, conduct interviews with both the candidate’s principal and a nominator, and then select the recipient of the award.
