There are many words to describe presidential candidate Donald Trump, but Zombie hunter is probably not one that pops into one’s mind. As for Fishers High School graduate Jon Davidson, that is exactly the premise of his latest short story.

The story is titled, “Donald Trump: Zombie Hunter,” and details the republican candidate in a mock scenario as a U.S. President in the White House during a Zombie apocalypse. The idea spawned from Davidson’s love for classical horror literature and interest in politics.

“I’ve always been really interested in horror and science fiction when I was growing up and I knew I wanted to be a writer,” Davidson said. “I started following Donald Trump a lot and his reactions to the other candidates. So I thought if I could combine the two genres, sort of do a political satire and have the monster theme like with zombies and work in a lot the candidates into caricatures; that was basically how I came up with a story like this.”

Davdison, now a senior English major at Indiana University East, has the short story online up for sale on Amazon. While it is for sale, Davidson was more interested in getting feedback on his writing rather than making money.

“I’ve been sharing it on Amazon and sharing it with other Donald Trump fans to kind of spread the word around,” he said. “I’m just charging 99 cents right now. I’m mostly just interested in getting feedback at this point.”

While this was Davidson’s most extensive piece so far, he is also working on a novel as well as a collaboration of other short stories with similar monster satires. He also has his own blog called Midnite Reviews.

“I review a lot of older shows like “Lost in Space” or “The Original Star Trek.” He said. “I’ve been doing that for a year now but it actually started as a school project but I decided to continue it just because I enjoy doing it so much.”
