Which Wich is coming to the Zionsville area.

The quick service restaurant with a unique ordering system is expected to open by late March or early April. Customers place their order by selecting options on a brown paper bag. There are roughly 12 different (sand)wich bag options, ranging from turkey or seafood to vegetarian and classics, and more than 50 additional ingredients. There’s also a bag for kids with a simpler menu and fewer topping options.

“One of the things that attracted me was my kids just love it,” said franchisee owner/operator Lee Kleiner. “They can fill out the bag and make it any way they want.”

This will be the first Which Wich franchise in Boone County. It will be in front of Meijer on Whitestown Parkway. Kleiner anticipates hiring 20 to 25 employees near the end of February.

Along with his legal and real estate partner Brian Kahn, Kleiner expects to open two additional locations in central Indiana over the next two years.

Kleiner, who owns several Dairy Queen franchises, was drawn to the unique customization and ordering system of Which Wich.

“We have a lot of vegetarian-type products, salads, lettuce wrap sandwiches,” he said. “It’s a pretty diverse menu and it hits all your different tastes and needs.”

“People want customization these days,” he said.

Kleiner, who has worked closely with local schools to help raise funds for PTOs, would like to continue that community involvement with this new restaurant and “raise double the money.”

“We raised nearly $7,000 last year (with Dairy Queen),” he said. “I’m so happy to be able to do this again with Which Wich.”

Which Wich has 400 locations open or in development in 38 states and 10 countries.
