The Town of Whitestown will hold a community MLK Day celebration beginning at 10 a.m. Jan. 18 at the Municipal Complex, 6210 S. 700 E.
The event will include showing part of Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech, a trivia contest and the collection of non-perishable food items for donation to a food pantry.
Whitestown officials said the event is part of a push to promote diversity programs throughout the year. The town’s proposed Diversity Committee is expected to also work to bring awareness and recognition to Juneteenth and Pride Events.
