Members of the Boys & Girls Club of Zionsville West recently threw a party – BINGO Domingo – for the residents of Zionsville Meadows nursing home. The kids handed out prizes to the winner and served a Mexican buffet for lunch.
To prepare for the party, the club applied to the United Way of Central Indiana for a grant to fund the purchase of the prizes as well as the buffet lunch. The party was intended to serve as a vehicle for intergenerational engagement. The kids got to listen to 1950s music, and the adults enjoyed the energy the kids brought. Partygoers effusively expressed appreciation to the organizers, describing it is a much welcomed change of pace. (Photos by Brad Thompson)
