Tamika ‘Mika’ (Hampton) Dowdell, 43, Noblesville, died Oct. 25 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born March 27, 1973 to Larry and Gerry (Mitchell) Hampton in Indianapolis.

Tamika was a quality systems document control administrator for Thermo Fisher Scientific. She was a 1991 graduate of Noblesville High School, where she was a member of the basketball team. She also was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Noblesville. She loved to read and to help others. Her door was always open for everyone. She enjoyed dancing, cooking, casinos, cookouts with her family and watching TV. She was known by many as “Momma Mika.”

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Thomas Dowdell; sons Leroy Tyler Bibbs, Brenden Bibbs and Darius Dowdell; step-children Thomas Jr., J’Mel, Tiffany and Danielle; grandmother Eula Mitchell; siblings Travis (Heather) Hampton and Tyanne (Marcus) Clancy; 11 grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her aunt, Yvonne Scott, and grandparents Robert and Alice Hampton and Ralph Mitchell.
