Marian P. Farrell, 89, of Zionsville passed away March 2. She was born on Dec. 22, 1927, in Peoria, Ill., to Robert and Lola Allton Prewett.

Marian was a 1946 graduate of Peoria High School and attended Bradley University. She was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority and was the Dream Girl of Theta Chi Fraternity.

Marian was gifted in and had a passion for writing. Her writings included more than 300 poems and stories, of which many were published in the Indianapolis Star and Zionsville Times. Marian worked as secretary-treasurer of J.M. Farrell Co. Contractors. She also volunteered for a number of years at the Zionsville Police Dept.

In addition to her parents, Marian was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Prewett.

Survivors include her husband, John; daughter, Renna; son, Daniel (Marie); seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather at 10 a.m. March 11 at Zionsville United Methodist Church, where the funeral service will begin at noon. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery, Zionsville.
