John Richard Zeller, 88, Noblesville, died March 22 at Harbour Manor Care Center. He was born Feb. 2, 1929, to Alfred G. and Pearl (Boden) Zeller in Noblesville.
John was a farmer for more than 65 years, and worked for Delco Remy for 28 years, retiring in 1993. He was a 1947 graduate of Lapel High School and married Martha Prater April 30, 1950. John was a member of Clarksville Christian Church, where he served as elder and deacon. He loved working on antique tractors and liked showing his tractors at county and state fairs. John was also a 4-H leader for several years for Progressive Farmers 4-H Club.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Jean Zeller, children David (Nancy) Zeller, Don Zeller, Nancy (Richard) Schnarr, Carolyn Faith and Debbie (Don) Waterman, 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Marge Zeller.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Alfred G. Zeller, Jr., and his infant sister, Martha.
