Be the Match holds bone marrow drives at Riverside Junior High for teacher

Be the Match Registry is holding two bone marrow drives to assist a Fishers teacher in need. The drives will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 7 at Riverside Junior High, 10910 Eller Rd., and Fall Creek Junior High, 12001 Olio Rd. The drive is open to the public and only requires four cheek swabs and the completion of a short form.

Missy Harting is a language arts teacher at Riverside Junior High School. Harting is battling leukemia and requires a bone marrow transplant.

Donor information will remain in the national donor registry until their 61st birthday and must notify the registry if there are any changes to their health. Those between the ages of 18 and 44 are eligible to join. For more, visit join.bethematch.org/hearts4harting.
