0

Beginning Jan. 8, Community Health Network will implement temporary visitor restrictions at all of its hospitals, which include Community Hospital North, Community Hospital East, Community Hospital South, Community Heart and Vascular Hospital and Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. Restrictions took effect at Community Hospital Anderson Dec. 30.

The Centers for Disease Control flu map for Indiana shows widespread flu activity in the state.

“Community Health Network’s ‘patient first policy’ means changes for those visiting our hospitals,” a press release from Community Health Network stated. “We’re working closely with the Marion County Health Dept. and are joining other Indianapolis hospitals in implementing tier one of (our) Patient Visitation Policy.”

Restrictions include:

  • No visitors with flu-like illness, fever or cough
  • No visitors under age 18
  • Only immediate family members or partners will be allowed to see patients
