The event takes place every Friday and begins at sunset; however, times may vary depending on sunset. Parking is available at Westfield Middle School, 345 W. Hoover St.

The movie lineup is: “Spiderman” Aug. 9, “The Incredibles 2′ Aug. 16, and “Coco” Aug. 23.

Kelley Wells is the community events coordinator and supervises the event.

“We have found that children’s movies draw a larger audience, so we have decided to focus on that this year,” Wells said. “We are excited for a movie lineup that will draw young families and teenagers.”

Movies and popcorn are free, but people are welcome to sponsor the event. Guests also are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and snacks. A Kona Ice truck will sell refreshments.

“Movies in the Park has become a staple of our summer events schedule,” Wells said. “It provides an opportunity for families and friends to spend an evening together enjoying our beautiful park, a free movie and free popcorn.”

Westfield Welcome is a hospitality program that organizes events for the City of Westfield.

“We provide 18 community events annually, train and manage volunteers and coordinate hospitality efforts for our residents and visitors,” Wells said.
