Snapshot: Zionsville Lions Club features Dr. Randy Harris


From left, Lion Dr. Scott Phillips, former NASA flight surgeon on shuttle missions, and Dr. Randy Harris, retired NASA aeronautics technologist. The Zionsville Lions Club recently featured Harris as its program night speaker. Harris talked about his involvement in developing a program to train astronauts like Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin and many others. Harris’ areas of research included the lunar landing, flying and weightless walking, flight test research and manned simulator development and other disciplines that benefited general aviation. He is a Purdue graduate of Aeronautical Engineering and received his doctorate from the Medical College of Virginia. He and his wife, Bobbi, live in Indianapolis. (Submitted photo)
