On March 12, Marion County Health Dept. announced all Marion County schools, including the Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township, would close effective March 13. The closures are proactive measures against COVID-19, or coronavirus. The schools will reopen April 5.
As of press time, there are 12 cases of COVID-19 in Indiana. The first case was discovered March 6. The Indiana State Dept. of Health has tested 64 people. There have been zero deaths.
