Holcomb signs executive order, activates Indiana National Guard

In a continuing effort to slow the spread of new coronavirus, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb signed an executive order today announcing additional directives.

Holcomb’s additional directives include an executive order that actives the Indiana National Guard to be on duty and assist in the state’s efforts to combat COVID-19, the disease stemming from the new coronavirus, as needed.

The governor’s executive order also delays non-essential public meetings. For essential meetings, one member is required to be physically present, but other members will be allowed to participate electronically.

The Indiana State Library is now closed to the public, joining local restaurants, bars and other entertainment-related businesses. Access to the library’s online services, such as Ask-A-Librarian, INSPIRE and the Digital Collections, will continue to be available without interruption.
