OneZone golf tournament set for Woodland

During the coronavirus pandemic, one form of fundraiser which can still draw numbers is a golf tournament.

OneZone will present the 35th Annual Chamber Classic Aug. 17 at Woodland Country Club in Carmel. The presenting sponsor for the OneZone outing is Lake City Bank.

“It’s one of our largest fundraisers, along with Taste of the Chamber in January,” OneZone President Jack Russell said. “It’s a great course for us to highlight and for our members to connect.”

Russell said he expects the golf outing will sell out soon.

“It’s 144 golfers and typically 18-plus sponsors on the course,” Russell said. “We only have a few foursomes left and a few sponsorship opportunities. There is always opportunity for businesses to give us a call and get involved. Something different this year is the Fishers Test Kitchen is going to there doing a food truck.”

In addition, Bier Brewery will have a beer cart.

Shortly after the chamber’s March 11 luncheon, limits were placed on social gatherings due to the pandemic.

“We went all virtual for the rest of March, April and May,” Russell said. “Then June 24 was when we went back to our live events.”

Russell said the OneZone luncheons are break-even events, designed for networking.

Networking is a key part of the golf outing as well.

The cost for individual golfer is $350. The cost for a foursome is $1,400 and includes a lunch, round of golf, a gift for each golfer followed by a 19th hole reception.

“It’s an opportunity to get together with the other golfers, there are raffle prizes and see who won the event,” Russell said.

The sponsorship levels range from $125 to $1,000. For more, visit onezonecommerce.com/chamber-classic.
