Katie Plummer was first exposed to photography in a basic photography class as a student at Hamilton Southeastern High School. Now an adult and a Noblesville resident, she’s taken the hobby and transformed it into a job focusing on building a community of young women who build each other up through her photography business, The Studio Kate.

“(As an adult), I started dabbling back in photography, and it slowly went from just taking pictures of friends and family to building a business. It went from a hobby to a job for me,” Plummer said.

Plummer is most passionate about taking pictures of high school seniors, specifically females.

“I was really investing in these girls, specifically, and giving them pictures of themselves that they love and they just feel amazing about,” Plummer said. “So, we ended up starting a Senior Influencer Team a couple years ago.”

The Senior Influencer Team consists of 12 girls throughout Hamilton County to represent Plummer’s brand. Team members are a part of the team for 12 months.

“We do group shoots with them and try to invest a lot of time in them their senior year with different activities,” she said. “There’s something about being able to have a photoshoot with one person and really get to see who they are and get to bring out their personality and get to create pictures of them that represent them well and make them feel good about who they are.”

This is Plummer’s third year with the Senior Influencer Team. She’s operated The Studio Kate since 2007.
