WWS establishes COVID-19 dashboard

Westfield Washington Schools now offers an online COVID-19 dashboard to be transparent regarding the spread of COVID-19 within the schools.

An email from the district to WWS parents stated: “We are taking the safety, welfare and education of every child very seriously and we absolutely know that you are, too. So, we are providing you with a dashboard, displaying the latest information on COVID-19 cases within Westfield Washington Schools as well as a weekly breakdown by school.”

The email states that although positive cases is an important number, additional factors regarding learning-model decisions include staffing needs and abilities, operations management, transportation readiness, Indiana State Health Dept. guidance, Hamilton County Health Dept. guidance, Gov. Eric Holcomb’s guidance, contact tracing capabilities, building population and abilities to facilitate social distancing.

As of press time, the dashboard showed there were 20 total cases for the school year, with four new cases from Sept. 27 to Oct. 1. New quarantines were at 78 from Sept. 27 to Oct. 1.
