Carmel businessman announces run for Congress

David Stockdale will formally announce his run for representative of Indiana’s Fifth District in Congress at a campaign launch event Saturday at 6 p.m. at Mediterra Restaurant, 815 E. Westfield Blvd., Indianapolis.

Stockdale, a newcomer to electoral politics, worked in the banking industry for 10 years until he started his own business as an independent broker in health and life insurance in 2008. He is a lifelong Hoosier born and raised in Indianapolis, now living in Carmel with his wife and daughter.

As a Republican, he is a strong voice for limited government, fiscal conservatism, individual liberties and the U.S. Constitution. He has become increasingly frustrated with the apathy in Congress on our national debt and the desire to increase the size and scope of the federal government.
