Celebrate Spring at the Carmel Arts & Design District’s IU Health North Hospital Gallery Walk

Walk away those winter blues and browse the new and exciting exhibits at the nine District galleries, wine and dine at one of the District restaurants and explore all the unique things the District has to offer during the SecondSaturday IU Health North Hospital Gallery Walk on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 5-9 p.m.

Paint your own masterpiece courtesy of Wine & Canvas with complimentary classes on the hour.  This free activity will be located at Square Donuts, 14 S. Range Line Rd.

Commemorate the evening with a fun photo op featuring Spring-themed props and costumes. A professional photographer will be on hand to take your photo and will e-mail them directly to you at a later date. This free activity will be located at 111 W. Main St., Suite 135 (next door to Auntie Em’s Frozen Custard & Cupcakes).

Additional features and activities taking place during the April Gallery Walk include:

  • A showcase of works by featured artist Donna Carr atArtSplash Gallery (111 W. Main St., Suite 140).  Donna paints mostly in oils and watercolor, and is showing a series of paintings of various Olympic athletes from the Sochi games.  Also joining the gallery this month is artist Peter Falk.  Peter is a woodcarver and furniture designer, working primarily with native hardwoods.
  • Inspire Studio Gallery (111 W. Main St., Suite 120) will host two sculptures from the Indiana Artist Club (IAC) Annual Exhibition.  Bonnie Zimmer’s piece, “Vessel for Dad,” is made from both metal and organic found objects.  It measures 41” high.  Robert Pulley’s piece, “Visitor,” is clay fired ceramic.  It measures 40” high and is one of a series of sculptures that are made to be displayed in an outdoor setting such as a garden.  Both pieces are available for sale.  Also, new paintings by Randall Scott Harden, Lindsey Elizabeth Tull, Rodney Reveal, and Catherine Bauder will be exhibited.
  • An opening reception for “Urban Landscapes,” an exhibit featuring Hoosier Salon artists Joe Blalock, Genna Pianki and Will Carpenter.  This exhibit showcases alluring and raw depictions of local cityscapes.  Meet the artists, enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres and have a chance to purchase one of these beautiful works atHoosier Salon (22 N. Range Line Rd.)
  • Free caricatures by Custom Eyes Design (In Auntie Em’s Frozen Custard & Cupcakes 111 W. Main St., Suite 130)
  • Entertainment by guitarist Brandon Wilson at Inspire Studio Gallery (111 W. Main St., Suite 120)
  • Be a part of the Scavenger Hunt that will lead you to find select pieces of art in each of the participating galleries and businesses. Begin the hunt at the ArtSplash Gallery (111 W. Main St., Suite 140). Follow the clues through the District and then turn in your completed clue sheet to receive a charm. Collect a different charm at each Gallery Walk throughout the year to complete a whole charm bracelet by the end of the year. Your completed clue sheet will also enter you for a chance to win one of the following prizes:
  • Gift card from Scotty’s Brewhouse ($60 value)
  • Original artwork from ArtSplash Gallery ($300 value)
  • Child’s gift basket ($40 value)
