Broadway in Indianapolis announces partnership with Cirque Dreams Holidaze and Tonic Ball, an event supporting Second Helpings®, which distributes nutritious meals to local social service agencies.
Broadway Director and Cirque Dreams founder Neil Goldberg recently visited Indianapolis in advance of Cirque Dreams Holidaze upcoming engagement Dec 15 – 20 at the Old National Center. During that time, wanting to express his appreciation for how Indianapolis has embraced the show’s first appearance in the city, he has selected Second Helpings® as a local organization to both donate tickets and make a financial contribution.

Says Goldberg, “We wanted to show our appreciation to the city and Cirque Dreams fans at a time of the year when giving is meaningful. Tonic Ball and Second Helpings® benefits thousands of hungry children and adults in Greater Indianapolis and our support will hopefully also nourish their minds and imaginations this holiday season .”
Each day, Second Helpings volunteers and staff rescue prepared and perishable food from wholesalers, retailers and restaurants — preventing unnecessary waste. That rescued food is used to create 4,000 hot, nutritious meals each day that are distributed to 80 social service agencies that feed people in need. The Second Helpings Culinary Job Training program trains disadvantaged adults for careers in the food – service industry. This helps eliminate hunger at its source. More than 600 adults have graduated from this program, and Second Helpings alumni are now working in Central Indiana as cooks, executive chefs, business owners and culinary instructors.
From sports enthusiasts and theatergoers to families and kids of all ages, Cirque Dreams Holidaze is a unique entertainment experience that everyone in the family will enjoy. This holiday stage show re-imagines the season with over 300 costumes, 20 acts and 30 performers from 12 countries showcasing an endless variety of imaginative, heart-pounding and gravity- defying feats and spectacle you have to see to believe.
Witness gingerbread men flipping mid air, toy soldiers marching on thin wires along with snowmen, icemen and penguins, balancing, jumping and spinning in disbelief. The show celebrates the most wonderful time of the year with singers, choreography and Broadway-style production numbers. Performers twirl, bounce and soar thru the air to original music and seasonal favorites brought to life within a stage setting of gigantic gifts, colossal candy canes and 30-foot towering trees & soldiers creating a wonderland of amazement, making it the greatest variety show on the planet.
