The fourth annual Chinese Mooncake Festival, presented by the Carmel-Xiangyang Sister City committee, will take place Sept. 10 after being rescheduled due to rain.

The event was originally going to take place Aug. 13 at Main Street and Range Line Road. The location has also moved to the Indiana Design Center parking lot. The event is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and is free to the public and family friendly.

In 2015, more than 1,500 people were counted as coming and going from the event. A dragon team will kick off the event promptly at 6:30 p.m., if not a little earlier so attendees are encouraged to be there early to see the opening ceremony. There will be free Chinese mooncakes to eat along with activities such as getting your name written in Chinese. There will be Chinese dancers and historic Chinese costumes to see in person.

“This event exposes people to a unique cultural experience that they have never seen before,” said Sandra Long, chair of the Carmel-Xiangyang Sister City.
